Stop Google Maps from feeding directions instead of a map while driving

When I put in a destination like an address or business, I want it to come up with just the map, not directions.

This happens when you’ve connected your device to your car through a usb or any other medium, it is a safety feature because you aren’t supposed to look at maps while driving therefore disconnect your phone open maps enter location in a stand still car and then start with your journey.

My i phone keep switching my location from Jordan to cairo since 3 weeks ago i tried to restart my device and turn off the location but it’s keep switching

Try this solution it worked for me:

Step 1: Go to Settings > General > Date & Time > Switch off set automatically and choose your address manually

Step 2: Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Location Services > Switch off location Services

Step 3: Go back to date and time same steps as Step 1, but turn on set automatically

Step 4: Go back to location services same as Step 2, but turn on location services again

It should work, if it didn’t just keep your Date & Time manually and it should work, hope it will help

Virtual Production Art Department

Education

I would concentrate on **professional, hands-on courses in Los Angeles that introduce her to working filmmakers, production designers, art directors, and virtual production specialists.**

Her architectural training is already a considerable advantage. What she needs is to learn how architectural design translates into film sets, both physical and virtual, while developing industry contacts.

I researched several options, and **Studio Arts, Gnomon, and UCLA are my strongest candidates**, with a separate art-department course that could be especially valuable for getting her first job.

### 1. Studio Arts — My first choice

Studio Arts Ltd
[Web](https://www.studioarts.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)
Address: 570 W Ave 26 #425, Los Angeles, CA 90065, United States
Phone: +1 323-227-8776

**Location:** 570 W Avenue 26, Los Angeles
**Website:** [Studio Arts Unreal Engine Courses](https://studioarts.com/classes_studioarts_unreal/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

Studio Arts is an Unreal Engine Authorized Training Center that specializes in training entertainment-industry professionals.

This is particularly attractive because Gladys could be learning alongside people already working in film, animation, and visual effects.

**Courses currently advertised:**

| Course                   | Schedule                                |
| ------------------------ | --------------------------------------- |
| Unreal Engine 101        | Sundays, October 11–November 29, 2026   |
| Unreal Connectors        | November 3–December 30, 2026            |
| Unreal for Games         | Saturdays, October 24–November 14, 2026 |
| Virtual Production ICVFX | Schedule to be confirmed |
| Lighting in Unreal | Schedule to be confirmed |

Studio Arts offers evening and weekend instruction, making it potentially compatible with architecture studies. ([Studio Arts][1])

**Why I like it:** The combination of Unreal Engine training and access to entertainment professionals is exactly what Gladys needs.

I'd ask whether their Unreal Connectors program includes environment creation and virtual art department workflows.

### 2. Gnomon — Excellent for Hollywood digital set design

Gnomon
[Web](https://www.gnomon.edu/?utm_medium=gbp&utm_campaign=vdsgbp&utm_source=chatgpt.com)
Address: 6150 Laurel Canyon Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606, United States
Phone: +1 323-466-6663

**Location:** 6150 Laurel Canyon Boulevard, North Hollywood
**Website:** [Gnomon](https://www.gnomon.edu/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

Gnomon specializes in digital production for film, visual effects, animation, and games.

For Gladys, the most useful subjects would be environment modeling, digital set construction, texturing, lighting, and Unreal Engine.

Her architectural background could translate particularly well into creating detailed environments for films.

**What makes Gnomon attractive:** Its focus on entertainment production and portfolio development. She would also have opportunities to meet other aspiring entertainment artists.

I would investigate individual courses rather than enrolling her in an entire degree or certificate program.

**My assessment:** Potentially the best option for developing a professional digital-set-design portfolio.

### 3. UCLA — Emerging Filmmakers Virtual Production Workshop

**Location:** UCLA, Westwood
**Website:** [UCLA Virtual Production Workshop](https://www.tft.ucla.edu/course/virtual-production-workshop/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

This is an intensive introduction to virtual production using an actual LED volume.

Participants learn how filmmakers combine physical sets, digital environments, and camera technology.

**Published 2026 details:**

* Duration: Two days
* Cost: $1,200
* Previous session: July 11–12, 2026
* Hands-on LED-volume exercises
* Professional production environment

The advertised session has already passed, so the next offering needs confirmation. ([UCLA TFT][2])

**Why I like it:** Gladys could learn how virtual production works without committing to a lengthy program.

For an architecture student interested in Hollywood, understanding the relationship between physical sets and virtual environments is particularly useful.

### 4. The Essential Art Department — Possibly the most useful for employment

**Website:** [The Essential Art Department](https://www.theessentialartdepartment.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

This is not primarily a virtual production course.

However, **I would strongly consider it because Gladys wants to work in Hollywood set design.**

Its Art Department Crash Course introduces students to the actual workings of film and television art departments.

Topics include the roles and responsibilities of designers, art directors, set decorators, and other art-department professionals.

The advertised spring 2026 course was:

* Six weeks
* $499
* Live online instruction
* Taught by industry professionals
* Approximately 3–6 hours of additional weekly work

That session has concluded; a future session needs confirmation. ([The Essential Art Department][3])

**Why I particularly recommend it:** Knowing how a Hollywood art department operates may be more immediately useful for getting her first job than advanced Unreal Engine rendering.

I would ask whether the instructors provide portfolio feedback and opportunities to connect with working art directors.

### 5. Mo-Sys Academy — Professional virtual production training

**Location:** Hawthorne, Los Angeles area
**Website:** [Mo-Sys Academy](https://mo-sys.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

Mo-Sys develops professional camera-tracking and virtual production technology.

Its Los Angeles training has included five-day, hands-on Unreal Engine technical operator courses.

Subjects include:

* LED-volume workflows
* Unreal Engine virtual production
* Camera tracking
* In-camera visual effects
* Real-time compositing
* Augmented reality

A previously advertised course took place December 8–12, 2025, in Hawthorne. I haven't confirmed a new Los Angeles session. ([Mo-Sys Engineering][4])

**My assessment:** Excellent technical training, but probably more specialized than Gladys needs initially.

I'd prioritize this after she has some Unreal Engine experience.

---

### 6. West Los Angeles College — Virtual Production Certificate

**Website:** [West Los Angeles College](https://www.wlac.edu/?utm_source=chatgpt.com)

This is worth investigating because it offers a more structured academic pathway.

Its 2025–2026 catalog includes virtual production coursework covering 3D modeling, production workflows, and a capstone project.

The capstone involves creating a virtual environment, displaying it on an LED volume or LED walls, and producing a finished motion picture. ([West Los Angeles College][5])

**My assessment:** Potentially good value if Gladys wants more substantial training without paying private-school tuition.

I would check which courses can be taken individually and whether they offer meaningful access to working industry professionals.

## An important networking opportunity: Hollywood art departments

I would encourage Gladys to become familiar with the [Art Directors Guild (IATSE Local 800)](https://www.adg.org/?utm_source=chatgpt.com).

This organization represents many of the professionals involved in film and television production design, including art directors, set designers, and illustrators.

An interesting finding from May 2026: representatives associated with Local 800 participated in a Los Angeles Valley College curriculum advisory meeting. They recommended training in **Unreal Engine, Twinmotion, set design, scale and proportion, and architectural literacy**.

That is remarkably close to the combination of skills Gladys is developing. ([Regional CTE][6])

She should investigate the Guild's public events, educational opportunities, and career information. Membership itself is subject to eligibility requirements.

## What I would do for Gladys

I would build her training around three complementary experiences:

**First: Studio Arts — Unreal Engine training.** This would give her practical digital-environment skills and potential contacts in the entertainment industry.

**Second: The Essential Art Department — Art Department Crash Course.** This would teach her how Hollywood production design actually operates and help her understand entry-level opportunities.

**Third: A hands-on LED-volume workshop.** UCLA would be a good candidate when another session becomes available. This would let her experience virtual production on an actual soundstage.

Together, these would complement her architecture education without requiring another degree.

### My strongest advice

**Don't make virtual production the center of her career preparation. Make it a valuable addition to her architectural and set-design skills.**

Her ability to produce architectural drawings, design physical spaces, and translate those designs into virtual environments could distinguish her from applicants with only traditional film training.

I would also encourage her to develop a portfolio containing both physical-set designs and Unreal Engine environments.

And for networking, I would favor **in-person instruction with working Hollywood professionals over online courses**, even when the online courses are technically excellent.

### One question

**Would you prefer Gladys to take an intensive course lasting one or two weeks, or would a semester-long course meeting once or twice a week work better?**

That would help me narrow the choices to programs with substantial industry interaction rather than general software instruction.

LED volume

**What it is.** An LED volume is a soundstage lined with large LED panels — sometimes curved walls, sometimes a full wraparound with an LED ceiling — displaying a 3D environment built in a real-time engine (almost always Unreal Engine). Cameras are motion-tracked, so as the camera moves, the displayed background shifts in correct perspective, same as a real set would. The crew and actors see the actual environment and lighting live, rather than acting in front of a green screen and imagining it. *The Mandalorian* popularized this as ILM's "StageCraft," which is the name most people know it by.

**How widely it's used.** It's grown fast but still isn't the default — more a specialized, high-end production method than a standard tool. There are now reportedly hundreds of LED volumes operating worldwide, and the segment is growing around 31% a year, faster than green-screen work, with projections that it overtakes green screen as the dominant method before 2031. Netflix, Amazon, and Apple TV+ are the most aggressive adopters, mainly because their episodic volume justifies the upfront cost of building a volume. North America and the UK lead, with Asia-Pacific the fastest-growing region.

**Employment angle — and this maps well onto "set design."** The role Gladys would be looking at is the **Virtual Art Department (VAD)** — titles like VAD Artist, VAD Generalist, VAD Lead Artist, or VAD Supervisor. This is genuinely a live, hireable track right now: Lucasfilm/ILM, Weta FX, and Pixomondo all have open VAD postings. It's essentially digital set design — building the 3D environments that get displayed on the wall, with a skillset of 3D modeling (Blender or Maya), texturing/shading, and layout and lighting sense, paired with Unreal Engine since that's what actually drives the display. A few schools (Florida State, SCAD, Miami University) now run dedicated virtual-production programs with hands-on LED stage time, which could be worth looking into given her interest. A strong portfolio matters more than credentials for breaking in.

**On the hardware question — this is the useful part for laptop shopping.** The actual on-set rendering hardware is studio-supplied, not something artists bring themselves. The machines driving an LED wall in real time are desktop towers, not laptops — one commonly cited example runs a Dell Precision 7875 tower with dual RTX 6000 Ada GPUs. That's firmly employer-owned production infrastructure. So Gladys wouldn't need to personally own anything close to that caliber of machine; a VAD artist's own laptop is for building and iterating on environments in Unreal Engine and Blender during prep and portfolio work, not for driving an actual LED volume. For that, something well under the RTX 5090 tier — even a mid-range RTX 5070/5070 Ti class laptop — would be entirely workable, and the RTX PRO 2000 in the ThinkPad P1 quote would also handle Unreal/Blender environment-building fine, just without the headroom for very large real-time scenes.
