- go to garmin.bbbike.org (used to be https://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/)
- navigate to area you want to downalod and send map image to your email address
- receive email, download from link, and unzip
- connect garmin nuvi to laptop via USB
- make a backup copy of E:Asia/Garmin/gmapsupp.img to your hard drive
- replace E:Asia/Garmin/gmapsupp.img with the new gmapsupp.img you just downloaded
When I put in a destination like an address or business, I want it to come up with just the map, not directions.
This happens when you’ve connected your device to your car through a usb or any other medium,
it is a safety feature because you aren’t supposed to look at maps while driving therefore
disconnect your phone open maps enter location in a stand still car and then start with your journey.
