Ambraseys (1962) and Antonopoulos (1979) report a tsunami in the Dead Sea in 315 CE based on references in difficult-to-access sources. Ambraseys (1962), however, suggests that this event was more likely located at Lake Van in eastern Turkey, possibly in 344 or 345 CE, an interpretation that is likely correct. Both authors assign a Tsunami Intensity of III.
