The Maronite Chronicle records that the Monastery of Abba (Father) Euthymius collapsed in an earthquake in 660 CE. Although the year 660 CE may be inaccurate, the description of significant seismic destruction at the Monastery of Euthymius likely corresponds to the Jordan Valley earthquake sequence of 659/660 CE.
