Ambraseys (2009) lists two al-Umari's in his reference section but does not specify which one he used in his catalog entries - e.g. for the 991 CE Damascus Quake and the and the 1643/4 Jerusalem Quake(s).

• I can't find much information on Yasin al-Khatib al-‘Umari
• Muhammad Amin Al-Omari was born in Mosul in in A.H. 1150 or 1151 (1 May 1737 CE - 9 April 1739 CE)

My best guess is that Muhammad Amin Al-Omari is the source for the 1643/4 Jerusalem Quake(s) as Ambraseys (2009)'s entry for the 1643/4 Jerusalem Quake(s) refers to al-'Umari as a late author. This, in turn, may suggest that Yasin al-Khatib al-‘Umari is the source for the 991 CE Damascus Quake.
