Sbeinati et al. (2010) documented Event Y in negative flower structures exposed in Trenches A and C at the al-Harif displaced aqueduct site, placing the event between 540 and 810 CE. Archaeoseismic evidence from cement and tufa cores supports this interval and indicates that Event Y followed the first aqueduct repair episode caused by Event X. Bayesian modeling of radiocarbon results further refined its age to 625–690 CE. Sbeinati et al. (2010) estimated that Events Y and Z caused ~9.3 meters of left lateral offset at the aqueduct.
