Kondo and Ozalp (2025) report that "the date of the penultimate event [Event 1]" identified in a palaeoseismic trench excavated across the Tetirlik segment "occurred between 372–196 BCE and 206–92 BCE according to radiocarbon dating results." They suggested that Event 1 "can be correlated with the 131 BCE Islahiye earthquake in historical catalogs."
