Lu et al. (2020) identified an in situ folded layer in the ICDP 5017-1 Core from the Dead Sea. A calibrated radiocarbon-derived age of 1864–1952 CE is reported (42 ± 44 yrs BP). The thickness of the layer is not specified. Lu et al. (2020) estimate a local PGA of 0.13 g, corresponding to a local MMI intensity of VI½ (6.5), and interpret the deformation as attributable to the 1927 CE Jericho Quake.
