Lu et al. (2020) detected a Mass Movement Deposit in the ICDP 5017-1 Core taken in the Dead Sea. Bayesian modeling of radiocarbon data was used to estimate an age between 658 and 746 CE ( 1σ). The Mass Movement Deposit was 16.5 cm thick. Lu et al. (2020) estimated a local PGA of 0.18 g, a local MMI intensity of VII (7), and suggested that the deposit was due to one of the mid-8th century CE earthquakes although the 659/660 CE Jordan Valley Earthquake(s) is also a plausible candidate.
