Possible Predecessor Earthquake Open site page in a new tab
Lain and Parker (2006:144) reported that a beaten earth floor and ash layer in Room A.13, which predated the first earthquake (Stratum VI–VB), was chock-full of tile fragments, suggesting a possible roof collapse of uncertain cause. Similar debris was not found elsewhere. The floor post-dates the fort’s original construction, which Parker et al. (2006) dated to around 300 CE based on ceramic evidence.
