Kázmér and Major (2010:194) report that Earthquake II "produced the U-shaped damage to the southern corner tower" together with "an extension of the top of the tower and of the box machicolation", which "occurred in 120–300° direction". They established only a terminus post quem of after 1285 CE, i.e., "during the Muslim period of Al-Marqab". Earthquake II was assessed as having lower intensity than Earthquake I since "it did not cause any visible damage to the donjon". Kázmér and Major (2010:196) also stated that "Earthquake II consisted of vibration in NE–SW plane", damaging the southern tower along with the NW corner of the donjon. They proposed the 1404 CE Aleppo earthquake and the 1759 CE Safed and Baalbek earthquakes as possible candidates.
