Although this earthquake may be alluded to by several sources, two accounts describe the event explicitly. Dio Cassius states that Paphos suffered damage from an earthquake around 15 BCE, while Eusebius records that between 18 and 16 BCE an earthquake ruined many parts of Cyprus. Although Kition is not mentioned explicitly by either author, Eusebius’ reference to widespread damage across the island could include Kition.
