asserts archaeoseismic evidence for a Sultan III a1 earthquake
in Early Bronze IA, citing Kenyon
(1957,
1978),
Ben-Menahem (1991), and
Ambraseys (2009). Ambraseys (2009) States that Kenyon discovered an earthquake in
"stratum EBA I," dated to betweeen 3400 and 3100 BCE. Kenyon (1981:204–205) notes Early Bronze Age destructions in Trench III
(Site N), Stage XVI, phases lxi–lxiii, which may be related to
earthquake activity.
