Alfonsi (2012:646) noted that “evidence of a major shaking effect was documented at the end of PPNA (i.e., at approximately 7,500 B.C.) at different sections of the site” in earlier excavations. Alfonsi (2012:646) further added that “a widespread collapse of the encircling town wall was associated with a sudden major disaster directly attributed to an earthquake (Kenyon, 1957, 1981; Bar-Yosef, 1986).”
