1st Sultan IIb Earthquake - PPNB Open site page in a new tab

Alfonsi (2012:645) recognized points 2, 4, and 9 (Figs. 2 and 4; Table 2) as damage caused by the same seismic event, which they dated on the basis of archaeological stratigraphy to 7500–7000 BCE. Although radiocarbon dating was available, it did not prove helpful. Because a separate seismic event—the End of PPNA Earthquake—is dated to ~7500 BCE, Alfonsi (2012) presented a date of ~7000 BCE for the 1st PPNB Earthquake throughout most of the paper.
