In a terse report, Jean-Pierre Braun in Egan and Bikai (1998:598) relates that "excavations indicate that the earliest significant [seismic] collapse [at the Temple of Zeus] took place in the later sixth century, but there is also evidence of damage in the third to early fourth centuries."
