Paturel (2019:185) reports potential archaeoseismic evidence at the Sanctuary of Hosn Niha in the Bekka Valley. The Large Temple appears to have been modified shortly before its destruction in a major earthquake, possibly the 551 CE Beirut Earthquake. Paturel (2019:185) reports that by the late sixth century, monumental blocks from the ruined temple were reused to build a Byzantine church on the sanctuary terrace in front of its remains.
