Taxel (2013:169) reports that a building, formerly a Byzantine church at Horvat Bira, “was destroyed and abandoned, perhaps due to the 747–749 CE earthquake(s),” according to the excavators. However, the chronology of the site remains debated, as discussed by Taxel (2013:169–170).
