Triantafyllou et al. (2022) conflate the Dead Fish and Soldiers Quake with the the Posidonius Quake. While this is an intriguing possibility, the Posidonius Quake is not well dated (in the extreme). Triantafyllou et al. (2022:6) cite Lampros (1904) as wondering if the earthquake described in Historia chronike (by John of Antioch] is the one reported by Posidonius. However, Triantafyllou et al. (2022:6) go on to assert that the date for the Posidonius Quake comes from a passage in Strabo about a different earthquake - the Dead Fish and Soldiers Quake.
