Tropologion Sin.Gr. ΜΓ 56+5 Sources Open this page in a new tab

The sources of Tropologion Sin.Gr. ΜΓ 56+5 lie in the early Jerusalem (Hagiopolite) liturgical tradition, drawing heavily on the older Palestinian Greek hymnographic repertory preserved also in the Georgian Iadgari and related Syriac Melkite books. Its structure and hymn texts reflect a shared Near Eastern transmission network in which Greek, Georgian, and Syriac versions circulated in parallel, preserving older layers of Jerusalem usage alongside regional Egyptian elements found uniquely in this manuscript.
