... The walls of
the city (Acre)
1 are crenellated: it must once have been
strong enough, but its fortifications, as well as
those of all the other cities of Syria, fall
quickly in ruins.
In 1759, this place suffered greatly due to an earthquake,
and you can still see remarkable remains
of the destruction.
